Sundays have always carried a different rhythm. They invite us to slow down, step away from the noise of the week, and reconnect with the things that really matter. And what better way to do that than with a simple digital detox?
Think of it not as giving something up, but as leaning into timeless traditions of balance and wellbeing.
In Denmark, there’s Hygge , the art of cosy contentment. It’s about candles, blankets, simple meals, and time with loved ones. In Sweden, they embrace Lagom - “just the right amount”, the idea of moderation and balance in all things. And in Japan, there’s Shinrin-yoku or “forest bathing”, the practice of immersing yourself in nature as a form of healing.
What all of these have in common is presence. You can’t experience Hygge while doomscrolling, or Lagom when your attention is pulled in a thousand directions by technology. These traditions remind us that rest, balance, and connection are real luxuries, and they’re offline.
So, why not try a Sunday Digital Detox this weekend? Below are our top tips for a successful Sunday Offline…

How to Try a Sunday Digital Detox
Set a clear start & end time. Maybe 10am–6pm, or the whole day if you feel brave. Boundaries make it easier to stick to.
Put your phone away. Out of sight, out of mind. A drawer or box works wonders.
Tell someone. If you’re worried about being unreachable, let a friend or family member know you’re offline.
Replace, don’t just remove. Plan screen-free activities you’ll look forward to: a long walk, baking, journaling, board games, or coffee with a friend.
Lean into rituals. Light a candle (Hygge), enjoy “just enough” of something (Lagom), or take a mindful walk outside (Shinrin-yoku).
Notice the difference. Pay attention to how your body and mind feel without the constant buzz.
By Monday, you may find your mind clearer, your mood lighter, and your time somehow more spacious. Doing different things with our day, and not being drawn into the digital world, slows down time so your weekend will feel longer. Surely that’s a massive bonus in itself ✌🏼
So, this Sunday, let’s reclaim the day — not from technology itself, but from the hold it has on us. We’ll be doing it with you.
See you offline ✌🏼
