3 surprisingly simple ways to reduce your screen time

📵 Because life’s too good to watch it through a screen.

We’re not anti-tech. But we are pro-life. The kind that’s messy, spontaneous, and beautifully offline. If your screen time is creeping up and your brain’s feeling a little fried, you’re not alone — and you don’t need to quit your phone cold turkey to feel better.

Here are three easy, gentle ways to start spending a little less time online... and a lot more time in the real world.

1. Create Tech-Free Zones at Home

Pick one space — maybe your bedroom, the kitchen table, or even just a favourite chair — and make it a no-phone zone. Not forever. Just enough to give your mind a breather.

Why it helps: You build small rituals of presence. Meals become mindful. Bedtimes become calmer. Conversations become deeper.

2. Replace, Don’t Just Remove

Cutting screen time without filling the gap often leads to boredom… and right back to the scroll. Instead, plan a simple offline swap:

  • Trade TikTok for journaling before bed.

  • Replace YouTube with 20 mins of a book.

  • Meet a friend IRL instead of texting.

Why it helps: You’re not giving something up — you’re choosing something richer. By swapping your habits, you're much more likely to create a lasting change.

3. Leave Your Phone at Home (on Purpose)

Next time you head out for a walk, coffee run, or lunch break — go without your phone. Even 30 minutes. Notice the world. Make eye contact. Let your mind wander.

Why it helps: You rebuild trust in yourself that you can be without it. And the world won’t fall apart.

You don’t need a full digital detox to feel the benefits. Just one small shift at a time. And if you need a nudge? Come along to one of our events and experience what life feels like unplugged.
